The 6 ft 2" striker joined the Albion at the age of 12 before signing as a scholar in the summer of 2003. He signed professional terms for the club two years later.
He made his name at the midlands side during the 2004/05 season when he was the leading goal scorer for the reserve team. This followed a period in the youth set up where he was regularly on the score sheet netting 14 times in 14 appearances.
His performances were noted at this stage as then manager Bryan Robson promoted Rob to the first team squad with whom he trained regularly.
Rob experienced first team football in a loan spell at Cheltenham Town and, more recently, York City where he featured for the Minstermen in a three month loan spell earlier this year as Billy McEwan's side headed for the play offs.
