Shots boss Dean Holdsworth has confirmed that four of the loanees have returned to their parent clubs.
Greg Pearson [Burton Albion], Adam Smith [Mansfield Town], Scott Davies [Crawley Town] and Jamie Day [both Crawley Town] have all returned to their employers following their loan spells with The Shots coming to an end.
All of the players failed to make an impact while on loan at the club, however supporters have been questioning Holdsworth’s decision to bring the players to the club in the first place – with many of his loan signings not having been given much (or in Day’s case, ANY) playing time since their arrival.
News has also filtered through (via his Twitter account) that Bradley Bubb is also set to join Eastleigh on loan for the rest of the season, in another surprising move on a player brought in to the club by the boss.
Since joining the Shots at the start of the season, Bubb is another player who has been given very little playing time and with The Shots short on goals, the move to keep him out of the side, prior to loaning him out to Basingstoke Town and now Eastleigh has also caused supporters to question what is going on behind the scenes.
Following Saturday’s 0-3 home defeat against Oxford United, there was fresh hope for supporters however, as Holdsworth said that he hopes to have two new forwards at the club by the end of the week and he also said that he hoped that he could bring Adam Smith back to the club, but would have to wait and see.
Whether or not they get in the team will have to wait to be seen!
