Goals Becoming Shots Stumbling Block

Shots manager Terry Brown has told the clubs official website, www.theshots.co.uk that he is growing concerned about his sides ability to score.

Following Saturdays 1-0 defeat against Morecambe, he told the site, "I don't think there is much more we could have done today. After we took time to adjust to their system at the start I thought that we dominated most of the game and doubtless we have not taken our chances. I am bitterly disappointed with the result but not the performance".

After yet another goal sank the Shots just before the half time whistle, Brown continued, "We have an amazing habit of doing this. It is like a kiss of death to us. It also meant that instead of going in and saying well done you are always having to pick the troops up at half time.

"I can't afford for the boys to be too down about the performance but it is the seventh game that we have not registered a goal in this season. We have the players who once they are in front can score but getting that first goal is becoming a massive stumbling block for us".

The Shots now have to begin to focus on this Saturdays FA Cup tie which will be followed the following Tuesday with the clubs first Hampshire Senior Cup tie of the season. The Shots will return to Conference action against leaders Oxford United the following Saturday.
