Grant Double Seals Shots Win

Rob Kelly from the Aldershot News has reported that in the final warm-up game before the start of their Conference title tilt on Saturday, the hosts came up against a strong Dons side but a double from John Grant and goals each for Mark Pritchard and Kirk Hudson secured the win.

Grant, a summer signing from Halifax, was particularly impressive and Brown told the Mail he was delighted to see him starting to hit the back of the net.

“It's a massive bonus for us that John has started scoring,” he said.

“Forwards need goals and it's great that the two subs came on and scored as well.

“If I have a reservation it's do I have enough goals in this side? Ok, I may get a few from the wingers but all four forwards have to produce because I don't see us having a 25-30 goal striker there, so they all need to be chipping in with 10 or 15.

“Forwards are totally different players when they've scored and I really wanted them all to score at the Rec and they've all done that now and felt how good it feels.”

Despite the scoreline, the hosts didn't have it all their own way against their Ryman Premier opponents and former fans' favourite Roscoe D'Sane caused major problems for the home backline with his pace and power.
