The Aldershot News has announced that midfielder Luke Guttridge has become Shots manager Kevin Dillon's second signing of the day.
The 28-year-old central midfielder, was released by the Cobblers in back in May and he is another Southerner who has opted to return closer to "home".
Speaking to the AN, Dillon said: "He's an ideal replacement who has played at a higher level.
"We've lost Kirk but he didn't play a lot at the end of last season.
"The players that we have signed are better than the ones we have let go."
Dillon also confirmed that a number of players would be joining the squad for training next week and that with 14 outfield players already signed, the boss said he was confident of securing another six players to take his total squad up to 20 by the end of next week, including both goalkeepers.
