Aldershot Town have signed 19 year-old left-back Jordan Brown on a one-month loan from West Ham United.

With Anthony Straker set to miss Saturday’s League Two fixture against Cheltenham Town, following the club’s appeal against his sending off at Oxford United, Dean Holdsworth’s only move on Transfer Deadline Day has been to sign temporary defensive cover.

Brown, who is the cousin of Sunderland winger Kieran Richardson, is a pacy, attack-minded defender, and rated very highly at the Boleyn Ground. He has captained the Hammers’ under-18 side and is expected to break into Sam Allardyce’s first-team squad in the near future.

Holdsworth said: “I’d like to thank Sam and West Ham United for helping me to secure this loan signing. Jordan gives us extra options and cover in a busy month of games, especially with Anthony Straker suspended for one match. Jordan will be a quality addition to my squad.”
