The highly rated midfielder was free to leave Cherrywood Road following the departure of Tony Theo and Tony Turberville and there was no secret in the Aldershot camp that his signature would be sought. With both Crawley Town and Exeter City in the frame it was a case of who would be in a position to offer the player the best terms and prospects.

Rumours began that the player would be signing prior to the weekend but it is believed that a deal for the 25 year old was put on hold over the weekend as Farnborough didn't want the player – whose registration was still held by the club, playing against them in the Rushmoor derby.

Holloway (pictured) began his career with Walton & Hersham before moving to Hampton & Richmond Borough. He then switched to Farnborough Town under the Graham Westley days and then followed him to Stevenage Borough. He then returned to Farnborough Town where he has been a consistent performer ever since.

Holloway has been seen in the stands with his friend and now fellow Shots player, Steve Watson at both the Exeter City and Farnborough Town games and will no doubt be looking forwards to playing tomorrow evening against Morecambe at Christie Park.
