Illness May Threaten Shots FA Cup Chances

A flu bug that has swept through the club this week means Dean Smith, John Grant and Ben Harding may be unavailable, although Brown is hopeful they will recover in time.

Added to the bug, central defender Dave Winfield will definitely miss the game because of a broken toe, sustained in the early stages of last weekend's 2-0 defeat at Conference leaders Oxford.

Ryman Premier Division side Chelmsford caused one of the shocks of the final qualifying round by beating Conference side Gravesend and Shots boss Terry Brown is wary of a side confident of causing another upset.

“I'm expecting a very physical game on a small, tight pitch,” said Brown. “The bug that's been going round doesn't help but we're still looking forward to it. Whoever plays, they won't need any motivating because it's the FA Cup."
