The Aldershot News have reported that Terry Brown still has injury problems ahead of Saturdays clash with Stevenage but can at least call upon the likes of Scott Guyett and Chris McPhee once again after both agreed to loan extensions from their clubs Yeovil and Brighton respectively.
After being quoted in a national paper of his intention to quit the Rec as soon as his loan spell was up, Guyett surprised many by opting to stay on. Brown though later claimed that his defender was misquoted.
The bad news for the boss this week however, is that skipper Watson may be denied the chance to play against his former club after aggravating his groin injury at Morecambe on Saturday.
Watson has been struggling all week and is currently undergoing treatment, but if it comes down to a question of will, then be assured he'll be out there on Saturday come hell or high water!
Not only that, Brown's long-term injury list has also taken a turn for the worse this week with another ex-Stevenage man, Gary Holloway, aggravating his knee injury in his return bid.
Holloway was set for a place on the bench at Morecambe, but may now have to wait 10-14 days before being ready to take his place in the side.
The same can also be said for Darren Barnard, who has just undergone more surgery on his groin injury, while Roscoe D'Sane has his final injection on his knee injury on September 27 before he can think about kicking a ball in anger.
Meanwhile, Brown has been busy this week in search of new talent, and was on the look-out for an on-loan left back as the News went to press.
He explained: "I'm actively trying to get someone in for the left side until Barney gets back. Lewis has been filling in for us but he is not a left back, he's a right-sided player. I thought we would get away with it but it seems to be a position we need to fill."
With thanks to the Aldershot News.
