Kuhl's Disappointment

Coach Martin Kuhl expressed his disappointment that Saturday's Coca-Cola League Two encounter at Gillingham was another statistic of the arctic weather conditions that have especially gripped the south east of England over the past few days.

The former Portsmouth midfielder told The Shots, "Of course it is disappointing because we have trained all week preparing for the visit to Gillingham. However it hasn't come as a total surprise to us though and we are all aware that it was a distinct possibility that the match may fall foul of the weather.

"Gillingham were able to stage the FA Cup tie at home to Aston Villa last week and with all the media interest surrounding that game they were able to get the match on and there would have been additional support for the pitch.

"The difficulty has been that since the Aston Villa on Sunday there has not been a turn in the weather which would have allowed them the chance to prepare the surface.
