Speaking to the clubs official website, manager Terry Brown said, "Manager Terry Brown confirmed, "David is out of contract and unfortunately I am not in a position to offer him a new one at this moment in time.
"I would personally like to thank David for his fantastic service to the club. He has been a pleasure to work with and never gave less than 100%.
"He is a talented footballer who I hope can continue his career successfully. I wish him all the best".
It was widly expected that the midfielder would be on his way out of the Recreation Ground following the recent announcements regarding the lack of money at the club as well as the players failure to re-capture the kind of form he displayed prior to breaking his leg.
