"I signed on Monday and the Chesterfield game was quickly off and then Port Vale was really frustrating. As far as I am aware, I was in line to make my debut at right back on both occasions.
"So, it's been a frustrating week but hopefully we can now get the ball rolling. I am excited by the prospect."
Lindegaard is a versatile player and has played in central midfield and wide on the right of midfield during his career, which saw him play at Yeovil Town for eight seasons, before he moved to Cheltenham two years ago.
But predominantly he has played as a right back and Aldershot manager Gary Waddock has already declared that that is where he intends Lindegaard to play.
And the new arrival is very happy with that. "I have played most of my games in my career at right back and I see myself as a fullback, so I'm happy to be told I'm playing there. I'm really looking forward to it."
Waddock has also talked about the positive impact Lindegaard can make thanks to his wealth of experience of playing in the Football League.
Waddock has repeatedly bemoaned the lack of leadership in his team after the poor results so far in 2009 and Lindegaard believes he can help address those problems on the pitch.
"Yes, the manager has talked to me about the little things he hopes I can bring to the squad," said Lindegaard.
"You cannot buy experience. I have played in this league before and won it too, as well as playing in the league above.
"I've heard that Aldershot play good football and I'm really keen to see it," said Lindegaard. "That should suit me as I've always been at teams who play that way, especially at Yeovil under Gary Johnson for five seasons, when we did so well and climbed the league.
"But because of the weather last week I didn't really get the chance to gauge my new team-mates and vice-versa for them with me.
"Hopefully this week we can get to train properly and have a good week together," said Lindegaard. "While it's always great to play, perhaps it's ideal for all concerned that we don't have a midweek match as we should have some good sessions together in preparation for Exeter.
"I just hope the game is on," he added. "I was kicking my heels at Cheltenham and like all professional footballers, I just want to be playing. I can't wait to get going again."
When Martin Allen was appointed as manager at Cheltenham last September, replacing Keith Downing, Lindegaard soon learned that his was surplus to requirements at Whaddon Road.
"I was placed on the transfer list in October," said Lindegaard. "To be fair to Martin Allen, he was quite honest about it all, which was good. I knew that my fate lay away from Cheltenham but moving on has dragged on a bit. So, I'm very glad and excited to join Aldershot."
