Aldershot Town Football Club are delighted to announce that winger Adam Mekki has signed a new deal to keep him at the club until the end of the 2013/14 season.

The 20 year old originally joined the club in the summer of 2006 and has progressed through the youth ranks before making his Football League debut versus Macclesfield Town at the EBB Stadium in February 2011.

This season Adam has progressed after further development to his career through a loan spell at Blue Square Conference South side Basingstoke Town. He has become a prominent member of the squad since his return featuring in the recent record breaking run of six successive Football League victories as Aldershot have won nine of their last 13 matches.

Enthused by his commitment to the club Adam told Premium Shots,"This was an easy decision. Dean Holdsworth has been a massive influence for me. He is the one who has had faith in me and put me into the team. He sent me out on loan to develop my career and that was the right decision as well.
To break into the first team now the timing couldn't have been better.

"The youth department at the club should take great credit too. It is a good system and a stable system to come through as a young player. I wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for the upbringing that I have had. It has come on massively since I first came through the ranks and hopefully it will carrying on developing more players to come through the system to benefit Aldershot Town."

Manager Dean Holdsworth added, "Adam enjoys being here and that is important. When I first came to the club he was out on loan but his potential was evident. I could recognise his talent and if he continues to learn and work hard then he has a great future in the game. We have worked on him and coached him well and he is infectious around the club too.

"He is learning very quickly in the game because he is a threat and this is excellent news for Aldershot Town Football Club."
