The club and Hampshire Police had entered discussions regarding the match and in an official statement, the club have decided that the match will not be going ahead revealing, "We are extremely disappointed that this game will not be going ahead but the unprecedented costs of staging this fixture which we have now been presented with, is not viable for a club with our resources."
The club have offered its appologies to both sets of supporters but it appears that it was the only option open to them.
