No Blue Tuesday For Brown

The Aldershot News have reported that former Southend centre back Andy Edwards has joined the club as Terry Browns re-building work continues.

Edwards has impressed since arriving on trial and linked up well with fellow new boy Rhys Day in their latest pre-season friendly, a 2-2 draw with League One hopefuls Bournemouth.

The 34-year-old defender has made more than 600 Football League appearances and Brown is delighted to have added him to his new-look squad.

Brown told the paper, “Andy brings leadership and ability, both to instruct players around him and deal with the ball itself,” he said. “Having him is going to be a massive advantage and he's a fantastic signing for the club.

“He signed prior to the game tonight and it's a really big signing for us. He has done very well in the pre-season games and him and Rhys Day could form a formidable partnership.

“We will be speaking to the likes of Phil Anderson, Mark Pritchard and Ricky Newman over the next few days and probably putting pen to paper.”
