He told the site, "It was great for me to be back on a training ground and it was a really good session.
"We trained this morning, had a lunch break and then returned for the afternoon session. The lads showed a fantastic attitude and they will need to do that in pre-season and during the competitive campaign too.
He added, "In the modern game you cannot afford to let yourself go otherwise you get found out so it is important for the players to look after themselves.
"In saying all of that they still have six weeks to get fit before we start in league action to get fit and by that stage they will be".
