Terry Brown has told the BBC Sports website that there will be no more signings and the he is happy with the eleven signings he has made.

He told the reporter, "That will be it, we are not looking to get anyone else in and I told the players that on Monday.

"I'm confident that if we get off to a good start we will be among the promotion candidates."

The new arrivals include veteran striker Marcus Gayle - and Brown has been impressed with what he has seen so far from the 35-year-old.

"Marcus fills the most difficult of positions - that of an old fashioned target man, which is the position he will adopt.

"We were disappointed after losing Jason Lee. We thought we had got him but lost him to Notts County so to get Marcus is a massive bonus.

"We have been impressed with his work rate and the influence he has around the younger players - he is a very positive character."

It is believed that the club will announce the signing of Ricky Newman on 1st August when his contract expires and a deal has already been done.

Talking on the campaign ahead, Brown believes that he will need all his key players available if they are to thrive in what he believes will be a very competitive division.

"I see a very tight division," said Brown. "I don't see any runaway teams at this moment.

"To be fair a lot of sides have made a considerable number of signings and you could catalogue any of about 10 teams to be up there."
