Rob Elvins Loaned To Woking

Shots boss Gary Waddock has today allowed striker Rob Elvins to join Woking on loan until the end of the season.

The 22-year-old progressed through the ranks at West Bromwich Albion and, having scored 14 goals in 14 games for the Baggies' youth team, he top-scored for their reserve side in 2004-05.

He was rewarded with a full contract in July 2005, but never made a first team appearance whilst at the Hawthorns. Following loan spells at Cheltenham Town and York City, he joined Aldershot Town on a free transfer in June 2007. He worked tirelessly throughout the season and his 11 goals contributed to the Shots reaching the FA Trophy Semi-Finals and winning the Blue Square Premier title that season.

However, this season, Rob hasn't been an automatic choice and had to wait until the Johnstone's Paint Trophy 1st Round game against Swindon Town at the EBB Stadium at the beginning of September before he was involved. He scored the Shots' opener that night as well as scoring his first-ever Football League goal in the thrilling 3-3 home draw with Bury the following month.

Rob has made 7 + 7 appearances and scored twice this season; his last
start for the club was the 3-0 defeat at Brentford on January 27th and he was an unused in the 4-2 home defeat by Rochdale four days later.

He goes straight into the Cards' squad for the home Blue Square Premier
game against Kettering Town on Saturday.
