The popular striker ended his injury hell with a 12-and-a-half minute cameo appearance for the reserves against Brighton & Hove Albion, and thankfully came away without any reaction to the knee injury that has plagued him for so long.
But his comeback could have been all the more sweeter had he not failed to hit an open goal with his very first touch, thus bringing an ironic smile from manager Terry Brown.
The boss joked: “It would have been the comeback of the century but he missed a sitter within about two seconds of coming on.
“Seriously, it was great to see Roscoe come through what was an important ten minutes on his road to recovery, and although he feels OK now, we'll have to see the extent of any reaction tomorrow (Thursday).
“Roscoe's still a million miles away and we are taking things very slowly, step by step.
“It was lovely to see him put the red and blue shirt on and great to see also the number of people who came down to give him a tumultuous applause.”
Brown is hoping that D'Sane and Steve Watson can continue training this week and the start of next with view to making appearances in the Hampshire Senior Cup tie with neighbours Fleet Town on Tuesday night.
That comes as a massive boost to the boss, especially if Watson pulls through in time for the FA Cup second round tie, which will be against Scunthorpe United on December 3.
The League One high-fliers overcame gallant Bury 1-0 after extra time on Tuesday night to book their place at the Rec in round two.
