That will change however if Steve Watson decides not to stay on, with the boss looking at a central midfielder, who would also be able to provide cover in defence if needed.
He told the paper, “We'll be sitting down with Steve this week and hoping he'll put pen to paper, if not we're looking at replacements for that central midfield role.”
The boss will also be holding a trial game this week in time for the resumption of training on Friday.
Talks will also continue with fans favourite Roscoe D'Sane this week, as he decides whether to resume pre-season training with the Shots, as opposed to rumoured interest elsewhere.
Brown added: “We would like to hold on to Roscoe and he has a place for training with us. We want him to stay and have offered him a deal on a month by month basis as he proves his fitness and we'll know his plans by the end of the week.”
