Shots Confirm Four Depart Club

Aldershot Town boss Gary Waddock continued his preperations for League Two today by announcing that Dean Smith, Rob Gier and Ryan Scott have not been offered new contracts and that Ryan Williams has been released by "mutual consent" so as he can further his career.

21-year old Dean Smith departs the club after making 70 senior appearances since signing from Chelsea's Reserve team two seasons ago and he is joined by former youth team product Ryan Scott.

Scott made 83 senior appearances for the club which included a Hampshire Senior Cup match against Eastleigh in March 2007 when he became the club's yougest ever captain.

Having suffered a broken leg at the end of last season, he missed most of the current campaign and had only recently returned to First Team action.

Also on his way out is popular defender Rob Gier who made 45 appearances after joining the club having had spells at Rushden and Diamonds, Cambridge United, Woking and MK Dons.

Ryan Williams has also played his last game for the club after it was reported that "it has been mutually agreed" that he can leave to further his football career elsewhere.

Willo was another who missed the majority of the season through injury and had also recently returned to First Team action and made 84 appearances in total, scoring 21 goals.
