The Shots chief contacted new Chairboys boss in the hope of forming a new three-pronged attack with Dixon leading the line with two other new boys — the experienced Marcus Gayle and Halifax hot shot John Grant.
Dixon was on the verge of making a permanent move to the Rec in the summer after becoming a huge hit with Shots fans following two separate loan spells at the club.
The deal broke down, however, in the wake of John Gorman's departure as manager and Dixon soon re-signed for Steve Brown at the Causeway.
But the Shots have never relented in the quest to lure the 21-year-old hitman to the Rec and now Terry Brown is confident of finally getting his man.
The Shots boss has revealed his intentions to unleash a new 4-3-3 formation on what he describes as “the hardest Conference ever” this season, and believes Dixon fits the bill.
He told the paper, “I'm still looking to supplement the forward line with either Jonny Dixon or another proven goalscorer.
“We have to dig into the transfer kitty but Jonny Dixon wants to sign for us and that's the most important thing as far as the club is concerned.
“I'm delighted with the calibre of signings we already have. John Grant is a proven scorer at this level, scoring 13 goals in a side that got to a play-off final and he even scored in that final. To nick Halifax's leading scorer is a major boost for us.
“Added to that, target men these days are like gold dust and after the disappointment of losing Jason Lee it says something about the ambition of the club to get someone of the calibre and pedigree of Marcus Gayle.
“When you've got Louie Soares and Ryan Williams on either flank you've got a decent strike force and it opens it up for me to get one more central midfield player.
