Terry Brown will finally have the luxury of fielding leading hitman Tim Sills tonight when he goes in search of some early Christmas cheer and a place in the second round of the FA Trophy.
The Shots boss takes his side to the other Recreation Ground in the Conference, at Grays in Essex, for part two of what was a highly-charged, yet entertaining affair on Saturday.
This time, however, Brown has added firepower in his armoury in the shape of top scorer Sills — the nine-goal ace making a popular return to action after serving a three-match suspension and hoping to earn the Shots a second round clash at Kidderminster Harriers on January 14.
It's not often when everyone is happy with a Tuesday night replay so close to Britain's biggest shopping centre four days before Christmas, but that was the positive outlook at the Rec on Saturday as the in-form Shots and high-flyers Grays played out a fine advert for Conference football.
Indeed, if tonight proves to be even half as entertaining, then the fans are in for an early Yuletide treat.
This classic game of two halves was decided by goals either side of the interval with Michael Kightly's strike for the visitors cancelled out by Darren Barnard's penalty five minutes into the re-start.
But it was the injury-time sending off of Grays defender Stevland Angus for landing a punch on Brian Tinnion, which proved to be the main talking point - a clash which could pave the way for some early festive fireworks at Grays later tonight.
The return of Sills is a massive boost to Brown, who knows that with a near full compliment on board, he has a squad capable of toppling the current Trophy winners.
He said: "If we can play in a similar fashion to the second half on Saturday, but this time get the ball into the feet of Tim Sills, then, of course we have a chance.
"As soon as we had a presence up there in John Brough on Saturday, we caused them problems.
"They dominated the first half and went in worthy 1-0 leaders, but we shuffled it about a bit and got amongst their midfield and, in the end, we were a forward short of winning the game. Some of the misses out there defied logic!
"It was important not to get beaten at home today and regardless of what happens on Tuesday I'm proud of the second half performance, which showed character."
Sills is almost certain to be thrown straight into the action tonight in place of Ashley Vincent, whose loan spell from Cheltenham ended with a whimper on Saturday.
Brown's one selection quandary, however, is whether to go with the youthful exuberance of Ryan Scott or the half-fit Steve Watson in the centre of the park.
Watson got the nod on Saturday for the first time in two injury-hit months, but got his routine booking after just two minutes and struggled to make an impact up until the pair changed places at the break.
Patched-up Grays, missing no fewer than three regulars themselves through suspension, enjoyed the better of the opening exchanges. But although the Shots were second best for much of the half, they matched them chance for chance.
The lively Nick Crittenden and lone striker Vincent both squandered opportunities from close range while Tinnion's deflected free-kick from 25 yards brought a fine tip over the bar by keeper Nicky Eyre.
At the other end, Grays might also have stolen the lead through ex-Farnborough duo Kightly, who shot just wide following a mazy run down the right channel, and John Martin, who struck the base of the post from 20 yards.
Ironically, it was the exact same combination which led to the opening goal three minutes before the break. Slick build-up play led to Martin again shooting against the foot of the post, this time from half the distance, and Kightly fired the rebound past Nikki Bull from a tight angle.
Grays were worthy of their lead going into the interval but within five minutes of the re-start, Brown's half time prayers were answered with the equalising goal.
Gary Holloway was the orchestrater this time, collecting an over-hit cross on the right hand by-line and brilliantly skinning ex-Aldershot full back John Nutter when cutting inside.
Holloway then side-stepped Martin and forced Nutter into making a rash tackle from behind, Barnard stepped up to fire home the resulting spot kick past Eyre and into the corner of the net.
From then on the Shots looked the more likely to grab a winner but Grays broke forward with pace and power and were always a threat.
Eyre brilliantly tipped a stinging 25-yard shot from stand-in striker Brough against the post, while the goal-shy Holloway somehow squandered a golden opportunity from just eight yards out after Brough had flicked on Barnard's free-kick.
Frustration was evident on both sides in the midst of a rousing injury-time finale, but in the end it was Mark Stimson's men who let it show.
Ex-Aldershot favourite Aaron McLean sparked it off with a cynically late challenge on Barnard and in the resulting melee, Angus lashed out with a clinched fist at Tinnion, who went down holding his face.
Angus, as a result, is ruled out of tonight's replay, but the good news for Stimson and bad news for Shots fans is that key players Stuart Thurgood and ex-Shots striker Jamie Slabber do return.
Greg Heald is able to play despite picked up his fifth booking of the season on Saturday, while on-loan striker John Turner is still not eligible.
