Shots Looking To Continue Attacking Ethos

Gary Waddock: Looking forwards to the new challenge.
Gary Waddock has told the local media that he is looking to continue with his attacking ethos ahead of tomorrows League Two opener against Accrington Stanley.

"Saturday is going to be a great day for us and the club," said Waddock.

"It's a good time for everyone connected to the club and a big day. Everyone is on a high after last season's promotion and now the return to the Football League.

"But I'm sure Accrington are looking at things the same way too. They will be looking to put their home form right after last season and in us, a new team to the league, I'm sure they believe they can make a good start too."

With almost a full complement of players, Waddock will certaily get the opportunity to chose his strongest side.

"We have a full squad bar Dave but some of the guys have missed pre-season games. They are fit but not match fit," Waddock continued.

Waddock will stick to attacking beliefs and, indeed, by his own design, has little option but to do so, giving the attacking nature of the players at his disposal.

"We were successful with an attacking style last season and we won't be changing," said Waddock.

"To be honest it's all about getting our own house in order and preparing properly, rather than worrying about the opposition. We can't be affected by Accrington, for instance, until we play them, so it's more a case of letting teams worry about us, if they want to, while we just get on with the same approach as last season."
