Shots Make Their Point Against Millers

Shots caretaker boss Jason Dodd spoke to the official Aldershot Town website www.theshots.co.uk yesterday following their 0-0 draw against Rotherham United at the Don Valley Stadium: "You could go through the whole side today and they were terrific. We have come to a really difficult place and got a point but the lads are disappointed that they have not won the match," he told the site.

"We worked all week on possession and closing down because we know that Rotherham try to dominate teams and we didn't allow that to happen. You are a long way from the pitch and we didn't want Rotherham to get on top and we were comfortable.

"We slightly changed things around putting Scott Donnelly just behind John Grant and allowed Lewis Chalmers a little more movement instead of sitting in front of the back four. It worked a treat especially in the first half.

"We never looked as though we were going to lose this game even when they started smashing the ball forwards in the second half. We are aware that we are good going forward and this performance proves that we can also be hard to break down too.

"It was great to get the first clean sheet of the season too. Overall the players can be pleased with their day's work and this is something we can build on for the Bury FA Cup tie next week."
