Lewis Chalmers - The Shots Newest Signing
Gary Waddock has made his first signing as Shots manager and has brought hot prospect Lewis Chalmers to the club.

Lewis graduated to the Altrincham first team after starting with Altrincham FC Youth side for whom he made his debut in the last match of 2002/03 season.
He went on to captain that side and after being a regular for the Reserves in 2004-05, Lewis was an unused sub in the FA Trophy match at Gainsborough on 27 November 2004 and made his full first-team debut on 28 March 2005 against Hinckley.

By the end of 2004-05 he had become a regular member of the first-team squad. Lewis injured his ankle in mid-September 2005 at Woodley Sports but returned to fitness and started several games in the Conference in 2005-06.

He is also reported to be a useful centre-back where his heading is a great asset, as it is at set pieces and he also possesses a prodigious long-throw.

From early 2006 he figured mainly as a substitute for our Conference rivals, before establishing himself as a regular starter when Val Owen was suspended in September and was rewarded with a call-up to the National Game XI squad in November 2006.

His first-team appearances for Altrincham totalled 63 (+33) and he scored 6 goals.
