6' 3" Masters, began his career as a scholar at Brentford and signed pro forms in July 2004.
He was joined Slough Town on loan during the 2005-06 season and had to wait until the opening day of the 2006-07 season to make his Bees debut - against Blackpool.
He made 13 more first team appearances that season as well as having a loan spell at AFC Wimbledon.
Having made just two appearances for the Bees in 2007-08, he was loaned out to Welling United in order to gain further experience and he left Griffin Park in January 2008 to sign for Southend United on a free transfer.
No sooner had he joined the Roots Hall club, he was immediately loaned out to Conference Premier outfit Stevenage Borough.
Although he made no appearances for Southend, he then went back on loan to Welling in November 2008 and also had a trial with Grimsby Town two months later.
