Shots vs Basingstoke Town

Last updated : 04 April 2005 By Stray Shots Team

While Conference play off hopefuls battle it out in a night of high drama around the country, the Shots will be focusing on victory over Basingstoke Town.

The first leg saw the Shots starting of badly and rather luckily scraping a 2-2 draw against the Conference South outfit and a much improved display will be needed if the Shots are to make the final which will be played at the Fitness First Stadium, Bournemouth on Wednesday 27th April with a 7.45pm kick off.

No doubt all ears will be on the vital Conference fixtures but with the chance of making a cup final on offer, the players will need to focus on the match and the chance of at least bringing some glory for supporters to cheer about come the end of the season if the slim hope of a play off spot is not achieved.

Two players who won't be in the line up however are new striker Jamie Slabber (not signed in time) and Gary Holloway (cup tied.)

The winner of the match will play last seasons FA Vase winners Winchester City in the final after they beat Gosport Borough 4-1 and 4-3 in their semi final matches. City play in the Wessex League.
