He said, "I just wanted to come on here and say good bye and a big thank you to all those supporters who have made my time at Aldershot such an enjoyable and memorable one! As exciting as this new progression in my career is, it was a very tough decision to leave behind my local club where personally I've had success and as a team we've come so close. The feeling I always got as i walked out of the tunnel at 3pm on a match day was as awesome the last time as it was the first, and that was down to the support and atmosphere you all created around the club so i thank you for that!
"I know some see this move as a risk for me but i honestly see it as an exciting opportunity to fulfil my dream of playing league football and wouldn't be doing it if i didn't believe i could make a success of it!!
"I wish the players and the fans at Aldershot all the very best for the rest of this season and beyond and hope that we all meet again in a football league match soon!
"You fed the Sills - now I'm hungry for more!"
Following leaving the Shots, Tim told the official Shots website, "It was always going to be a wrench if I left Aldershot. I'd been at the club for two and a half years and I always enjoyed a great relationship with the fans who have been fantastic to me throughout, especially these past couple of weeks when the rumours of me leaving have been flying around. I wish every body at Aldershot every success for the future".
Manager Terry Brown added, "Tim has been a fantastic servant for this club. He has been a major part of our success over the last three years. We didn't want to lose him and I am sure that he will do very well at Oxford United. I wish him all the best at his new club".
