Status Quo On The Club Front

As training began last Friday, Terry Brown had hoped to be tying up a deal with a former League striker and continuing talks with an experienced centre half - but speaking to the Aldershot News, the boss said, “Friday turned into an absolutely nothing day!

"I am asking the fans to trust me, I want players to come down here and earn contracts, apart from one experienced player who I will be speaking to this week.”

Meanwhile the players have returned to training this week, apart from goalkeeper Nikki Bull (knee) who is still a couple of weeks from fitness, while striker Tim Sills has undergone a second procedure to remove his tonsils after undergoing ankle surgery.

Steve Watson is also recovering as Brown was due to continue talks with his skipper this week.

Speaking about the fixtures, Terry Brown said that he was happy with the opening match against Tamworth, but once again disappointed by the Christmas fixtures.

He said, “I am gutted, I can't understand why we don't play Woking. We could earn a load of money for the clubs, and the fans want to watch a local derby on Boxing Day.

“Once again we have to go to Forest Green and also Exeter, I'd like a serious word with the computer that sorts out fixtures."

With thanks to the Aldershot News.
