Former Brentford and Cambridge United defender Matt Somner has joined the Recreation Ground just weeks after joining Bristol Rovers on non-contract terms.
Despite being offered a contract from the League Two side, the former Cambridge player of the season has decided to join the Shots in a one year deal.
The 22-year-old defender who can also play in midfield had featured for the Shots during the pre-season and will be a welcome addition to the squad following David Lee's injury.

The Shots boss is also hoping to add at least one other player to his squad before the long journey up north, in a desperate bid to earn the clubs first points of the season.
