“It'll be great to be back at the Rec on Saturday, not just from a financial point of view but we have only been there once in the last month,” he said.
“I'm feeling the most positive I have felt all season. Looking at the games we've got coming up, it should be a chance for us to start climbing the table and turning that very long corner. We've got a run of home games with the only trip to Cambridge and that's winnable too,” said Brown.
But Brown still has problems up front, Tim Sills, who fell awkwardly on his shoulder in Saturday's 3-1 FA Cup win against Burnham, is 50/50 for this weekend, with the good news that nothing was broken in the injury.
But if he is not fit, and as Northampton youngster Matt Gearing is also out injured, Brown has been scouring the market for a hit-man.
As ever the boss was remaining tight-lipped over his target, saying only: “It is likely there will be a new face in by the weekend.”
One interesting addition to the teamsheet at the weekend is former Bristol City boss, and left winger Brian Tinnion, who turned out for the reserves against Woking on Wednesday night.
Brown has also been heavily linked with a loan move for Brentford's Scott Fitzgerald, who has made eight starts and nine substitute appearances for the Bees, scoring three times.
However, there is one other striker Brown is holding out for — long-term injury victim Roscoe D'Sane.
Brown was given a major boost as the striker returned to first team training this week and said: “Roscoe's been training properly for the first time and actually kicking a ball about, if he doesn't have a reaction it's good news.
“We've got a few back and if we can get Steve Watson back, even with Roscoe on the bench we're looking like a much stronger side,” added Brown.
Meanwhile, the boss has continued to gradually tick off the injury list, Darren Barnard and Gary Holloway have both made a return to full fitness, while John Brough has played two consecutive first-team matches for the first time this season.
Skipper Watson is also expected to return in two weeks' time after undergoing groin surgery.
“Having Broughy back is a boost as he was an integral part of my plans at the start of the season, what we had out on Saturday was by far our strongest back line.
“With Watson saying he'll be back soon as well, without tempting fate, most of our injury worries are clearing up.”
Gravesend haven't had a win in four League games, as well as losing out 3-0 in the FA Cup to Kettering Town. In their last two games they have lost to Tamworth (1-0 away) and Stevenage (2-0 at home).
Charlie McDonald is the main threat with six goals under his belt, but since the Shots joined the Conference, the Kent side have never beaten them.
Last season Sills' last minute winner ensured victory at the Rec, while a Jonny Dixon hat-trick earned the away victory. The season before, Sills was again on the scoresheet, with two goals in a 3-1 win away, with Ray Warburton scoring the other, while goals from Jon Challinor and D'Sane saw a 2-2 draw at the Rec.
Despite this, Brown believes they will still be in for a tough game.
“Liam Daish's teams are always the same; big, strong and well organised. They've played some tough games recently including Tamworth, who beat Bournemouth and then Stevenage, who are a good side, so we're in for a difficult game.
“Saying that though it's a game that gives us a good opportunity to start climbing the table.”
