Trouble At Mill?

Official Aldershot Town FC website www.theshots.co.uk has published an official club statement following an emergency board meeting which took place yesterday evening.

News broke late yesterday afternoon that the planned Supporters Forum had been cancelled as the emergency meeting was called which raised suspicion among supporters and the club acted quickly by publishing the following statement this morning via their website:

"We inform supporters that Tony Taylor and Leighton Moat have tendered their resignation from the board of Directors at Aldershot Town Football Club. The resignations have been accepted with regret.

"After recent meetings of the Investment Board and Operations Board it has been decided to restructure the formation of the club's Board. It has been agreed that there be a return to one main Board of Directors.

"The Board of Directors will consist of: Keith Able (Supporters Club), Peter Bloomfield, Tony Brooker (representing the estate of John McGinty), Tony Cotugno, Simon Groves, John Leppard and Kris Machala. There will be a further announcement regarding the appointment of a Chairman in the near future.

The Board wish to thank Tony and Leighton for their time associated with the football club.

Going forward the Board are still receiving applications for the vacancy of Manager. Directors are considering the applications with a deadline of Wednesday 4th November and a short list will be identified thereafter. The club has received a high calibre of applicant with over 50 so far. An appointment is aimed to be made by mid November."
