Newport County midfielder Jamie Collins and Charlton Athletic keeper Ross Worner have both put pen topaper and joined The Shots today at a close season training session held by the club.

Collins, who teams up with his former manager Dean Holdsworth once again made 45 appearances for the Welsh club last season, netting 10 goals including a brace against promoted AFC Wimbledon in Holdsworth's final home match in charge before his move to the EBB Stadium in January.

Ross Worner meanwhile, originates from close by Aldershot and made 11 appearances last season for npower League 1 side Charlton Athletic having joined them from Conference side Woking.

A delighted Holdsworth told the clubs official site: "I have known Jamie since he was nine years old when he was at Watford.  He possesses all the attributes that I am looking for.

"He is a quality player and has a great attitude who works his socks off. He will bring great attributes to the football club and has a will to win. He will be good around the dressing room and players will enjoy playing with him.

"We have waited for Jamie as there were stipulations from my former club regarding contract matters. We spoke to Jamie and he has been in this morning for the first time and had his medical which he passed and he now becomes an Aldershot Town player from today.

"Ross is eager to get involved too. We have monitored his progress and he has the calibre to push Jamie Young in goal and they will be a good partnership together. It is an important area. We also have Jordan Clement and his time will come but he is likely to go on loan in order to get some first team experience but to be available if required to be called back."
