Lee spent most of last season out injured following breaking his leg in the away game against Canvey Island and will be a welcome boost to Terry Brown as he tries to convince other key players to join the revolution.
Winfield made his way through the youth ranks at the club and found himself as a first team regular towards the end of the season - and looks to be a real prospect for the future and Terry Brown told the clubs official website, "He has tremendous ability and ticks all the boxes required as a player who could have a great future in the game.
"I do stress that it will be taken carefully and I will still be looking at recruiting two senior central defenders as an integral part of the squad for next season".
