Gary Waddock: Pleased with his sides comeback.
Shots manager Gary Waddock spoke to The Shots following Saturday's 2-2 draw with Grimsby Town at the EBB Stadium and said, "It was a good match for the fans especially as we were 2-0 down and got back to level terms. In a way that feels more like a win than a draw.

"They sat deep and were compact in the first half and we were victims of our own downfall really, but we told the players what was needed at the break and they responded well and credit to them."

Grimsby took a two-goal lead going in to the break with goals from JP Kalala and Nick Hegarty, however two converted penalties from Scott Davies during the second half proved to be enough to preserve The Shots eleven-month unbeaten home record.

"Grimsby made life difficult for us and we must remember that they have recorded good results against decent sides recently" Waddock continued. "After the break we started to cause problems of our own though.

"We didn't show enough composure in the final third in the first half, but in the second half they were on the back foot.

"We've earned a few penalties this season and it was so important to score the one just after half-time because we needed to score as it would lift the players and the supporters too. Scott struck both spot kicks with venom".
