With leading scorer John Grant sidelined through injury, and second top scorer Jonny Dixon sold to Brighton & Hove Albion, the boss told the paper that he is hoping to tie up a new deal with a forward in the near future.
Rob Elvins managed to fill Grants role on Saturday, however, Waddock insists that he will need options as the clubs promotion run draws to its climax.
"I've been looking for another forward since JD [Jonny Dixon] left three weeks ago," said Waddock. "I can confirm nothing at the moment because there are a lot of processes involved and I need to make sure that if I bring someone in then he's the right one."
