Waddock: All about gaining fitness.
Speaking to the clubs official website, Shots manager Gary Waddock confirmed that his squad are preparing for the opening Coca-Cola League Two match on August 8th and nothing else - including the 3-1 defeat against Farnborough, matters at this moment in time.

The boss spoke to The Shots the boss said: "Farnborough were the better side and deserved their victory.

"It was a good work out for us. Our players have worked hard throughout the day. They trained during the day and then played in the evening. That was our preparation as part of our pre-season schedule.

"Farnborough are a good side and have a new management team. They were sharper than us and this was due to the workload that we have given our players. Although we didn't perform as well as I would have liked pre- season matches are there for a reason.

"We are trying to get our fitness and sharpness right. I have no complaints with our fitness levels and we are aware that there are certain aspects of our game that we need to continue to work on and that is what the training ground is all about."
