Captain Marvel Warburton, who has hung up his full-time boots, is a legend to supporters having served the Shots for almost three seasons.
In that time he helped the club to promotion from the Ryman League before captaining the side to the Play-Off final in the Shots' first season in the Conference.
But after the semi-final in the Play-Offs this year at Carlisle, the players were unable to come back out on the pitch, leaving many supporters disappointed not to be able to say thank you and goodbye to the man who did so much.
Warburton is hoping to be fit to play a cameo role in the visit of Championship side Queens Park Rangers on Sunday, but will decide on the day depending on fitness - although being unfit never prevented him from giving 100% in the past.
Boss Terry Brown is not interested in the result, but hopes to be able to continue running the rule over prospective players, as his regular first teamers continue to build up their fitness.
He told the Aldershot News, “The last few matches have been pretty disappointing, as a manager you want to see some youngster burst through and really excite you but to be honest I haven't seen anything that exciting.
“Sunday is a bit different, we haven't got any expectations to do fantastically well, in fact I fully expect us to lose the first four pre-season games. All you want to see is the players coming through to fitness and have a look at some new faces.”
