Aldershot News reporter Rebekah Wheller has revealed that the influential Shots player had been mulling over an improved contract for the last few weeks, whilst also weighing up offers from Conference rivals Woking and Stevenage and League Two side Peterborough United.

Speaking exclusively to the Mail, he said: “I gave Terry Brown and Karl Prentice my word last week that I would be signing a new deal and I won't renege on that, I am not the sort of person to go back on my word.

“Even with the other interest I always wanted to stay at Aldershot, it's a great club and it's about time we get out of this league.”

The 33-year-old also said that he believes boss Terry Brown will succeed in attracting the right players to the Rec.

He added: “He's got a great record in signing players and he's got us to the Play-Offs twice, we just need to go one better.

“The nucleus of the side is there, and Terry doesn't panic buy, he wants to make sure he is getting quality players.”
