Kevin Wilson, manager of Nationwide North club Kettering Town, has boosted his ranks by signing experienced midfielder Hugh McAuley.

The much-travelled former Cheltenham and Kidderminster Harriers man enjoyed a successful month on loan at Rockingham Road from Conference National side Tamworth earlier this season but a permanent move was not possible.

However, Wilson has now completed the deal that will see McAuley (pictured) remain with the Poppies until the end of the season.

He is likely to go straight into the starting line-up against Gainsborough Trinity this Saturday.

Wilson said: “Hugh came and watched the game against Hinckley United on Boxing Day.

“We managed to do a deal soon afterwards and I am delighted that he has joined us for the rest of the season.

“I think most people were impressed with him during his loan spell here and that is why I was so keen to get something done.

“He is a good player and will bring something different to the side".

McAuley signed for the Shots during the 2004/05 season making 32 unimpressive appearances, scoring no goals.
