The versatile right-sided player played for Walthamstow Pennant and St Margaret's in the Spartan League during the early part of his career before moving into Isthmian League football with Ruislip Manor.
In June 1996 Lee joined Yeading and then played for Enfield, Aldershot and with Jeff King at Canvey Island before signing for Gravesend & Northfleet in April 2004 after a loan spell at the club.
He played for an FA X1 during 2004/05 and in March 2006 Lee joined Margate on loan. In the summer of 2006 he made his move from Gravesend permanent.
In the summer of 2007 he signed for Chelmsford City to rejoin King, thus becoming one of the first new faces in the squad for the coming season.
