Ryan Scott: Now with Boro
Former Aldershot Town midfielder Ryan Scott, who was released by the club at the end of the Conference Championship winning season, has joined the clubs Rushmoor neighbours - Farnborough FC.

Twenty-one year old Ryan spent five years at The Recreation Ground - two as a youth player and three on a professional contract and was a popular player with the supporters and indeed became the clubs youngest ever captain last season when he took charge of the team in a Hampshire Senior Cup fixture against Eastleigh.

A broken leg on the final day of the 2006/07 season against Altrincham meant a return to first team action was only possible towards the end of last season and Gary Waddock saw fit to release the youngster as The Shots climbed into the Football League, as appearances were limited due to the already strong midfield line-up at the club.

Speaking to his new clubs website after signing a two year contract with a further one year option, Scott commented "I am very happy to be joining Farnborough, the club has a lot of ambition and I will be working very hard to do my bit in achieving our targets. Having had the frustration of a season out, I want to play as many matches as possible for the club, and have worked very hard to regaining my fitness."

On his release from Aldershot Town he commented "In hindsight being released by Aldershot will probably do me the world of good, it will give me the chance to re-establish myself and the chance to get hopefully an extended run in the side."

Vines speaking before flying out on a two week holiday said, "Ryan is an excellent addition to our squad, for a young man he has played a number of Conference National matches, and I am sure if he did not sustain the injury when he did, he would have played a major role for Aldershot last season."

He added "He is a player who has caught my eye on the occasions I have seen him play, and this is a great opportunity for him to re-ignite his career and help us achieve our objectives."
