Coventry City Reserves vs Chelsea Reserves

Last updated : 21 February 2005 By Stray Shots Team

With Yves Ma Kalamabay as well as Pidgeley unavailable, there is a first reserve team start in goal for 17 year-old James Russell who has been a regular between the posts for the youth team this season.

There is also a return to the starting line-up for another 17 year-old, Michael Mancienne, now recovered from the ankle injury he suffered in FA Youth Cup action in December. He will replace Watt.

Sam Tillen is restored at left-back having missed three games with a thigh injury while Anthony Grant has recovered from a bout of the mumps to resume his anchor role in midfield, filled in last week's draw with Charlton by Morais.

The reserves' recent five game winning run was brought to an end by that draw and a defeat in the last away game at Crystal Palace. A victory tonight over Coventry would however see Chelsea climb the table, Mick McGiven's side lying just one point behind the Sky Blues' second string.

The two teams drew 0-0 at Aldershot back in October.

The Chelsea line-up tonight is:

James Russell; Dean Smith, Adrian Pettigrew, Michael Mancienne, Sam Tillen, Jimmy Smith, Anthony Grant, Danny Hollands (c), Filipe Oliveira, Sebastian Kneissl, Danny Woodards.

Subs: Dean Furman, Joe Tillen, James Younghusband, James Simmonds, Philip Younghusband.

The game is at Nuneaton Borough FC, kick-off 7pm.

As usual there will be live coverage on Chelsea TV beginning at 6-30pm with Eddie Newton analysing events in the studio and Jason Cundy co-commentating.
