A good humoured frenetic build-up filled the EBB Stadium with the visit of former management team of Gary Waddock and Martin Kuhl enhanced by the return of messrs Bull, Winfield, Sandell and Davies added to Scott Rendell being on the bench. Kevin Dillon gave starts to Danny Hylton, Aaron Morris and John Halls with Luke Guttridge, Darren Jones (injured) and Glen Little missing out from the side that went down at Port Vale last weekend. New loan signing Marlon Jackson was also ruled out through injury.

First Half 0 to 15

Aldershot, kicking towards a sun-drenched High Street end started at a tidy pace. Hylton played in Harding 20 yards out on five minutes and the midfielder did exceedingly well to mask the ball past Alan Bennett but his low placed effort was excellently grasped by the diving Bull.

A frivolous atmosphere, especially on both sides of the East Bank, ensured a combative approach. Sandell rounded on the byeline against his former club and sent to the ball into the path of former Dagenham and Redbridge striker Ben Strevens only for the final shot to be whisked into the near post side netting. Scott Davies then directed a curling effort wide of the far post after being more astute at collecting a short corner.

Wanderers started to dictate play a touch more and former Aldershot Schoolboy Kevin Betsy's long-range effort took a slight deflection just past the post.
