Aldershot picked up only their second win in 2009 with a hard-fought victory over Luton Town .
The opening exchanges were keenly fought despite both sides having little to play for in the League Two run-in.
On six minutes, Luton had the first serious effort on goal. Kevin Gallen held off Anthony Charles and fed Tom Craddock inside the box. The striker fired on sight wide of the right post.
Moments later, Craddock was again unmarked in the penalty area but headed wide from Ian Henderson's cross.
Aldershot responded through the lively Kirk Hudson and the winger crossed to John Grant who fired over from eight yards.
Left-back Sol Davies came under increasing pressure and hacked down Grant inside the penalty area.
From the spot, Dean Brill saved low to his right from Scott Davies but couldn't stop the Reading loanee firing home the rebound.
On 27 minutes, Henderson forced an excellent low save from Mikhael Jaimez-Ruiz after ghosting past the Shots defence.
Luton's pressure finally told on 35 minutes and Henderson was again instrumental as he chipped to the back post from the right.
Asa Hall intelligently cut the ball to Craddock who fired home ruthlessly from six yards.
On 49 minutes, the otherwise ineffectual Lewis Chalmers played a delightful ball to Hudson .
Unopposed, the former Celtic trainee fired home from 20 yards with Davis again conspicuous by his absence.
Prompted by a resurgent Chalmers, Davies came close to doubling his tally.
On 56 minutes, Chalmers squared to Davies 30 yards from goal but the midfielder's piledriver missed the top right corner by inches.
On the hour mark, Davies drove an even more unlikely effort from close to 40 yards onto the crossbar and Brill could only watch in admiration at the purity of the strike.
On 72 minutes, Craddock skilfully pulled apart Charles and Dave Winfield. Substitute Lewis Emanuel burst into the box but shot tamely at Jaimez-Ruiz.
Late on, Kevin Nicholls' free-kick found Michael Spillane with time and space but the defender headed over to deny Luton a deserved share of the spoils.
