Bournemouth moved out of League Two's bottom two places after a comfortable win over Aldershot and by virtue of Grimsby also losing.

Goals from Danny Hollands after 44 minutes and Steve Fletcher after 56 meant that for the first time this season they have wiped out the 17 points deduction placed on them by the Football League.

There was little doubt Bournemouth would see off Aldershot in the driving wind and rain.

Aldershot keeper Nikki Bull was at fault for the first after punching a centre from Mark Molesley straight to Hollands, who scored with a fierce left-foot shot.

Fletcher, playing his 501st league game for Bournemouth, added the second in the 56th minute with a firm header from a centre by Warren Cummings.

Bull failed to reappear for the second half after being injured in a clash with Fletcher.

His deputy, Alex McCarthy, made a great save in the 88th minute to prevent Brett Pitman adding a third.

Aldershot offered little in the way of attacking ideas but Andy Sandell was denied in the 26th minute at close range by Shwan Jalal and the goalkeeper also saved a shot on the turn from Marvin Morgan after the break.

Bournemouth had other chances to have wrapped up a comfortable win with former Aldershot midfielder Molesley shooting across the face of the goal and Pitman heading onto the roof of the net.

Premier League referee Andre Marriner showed yellow cards to Bournemouth's Anton Robinson and Jason Pearce and Aldershot's Kirk Hudson.

Hudson caused panic in the Bournemouth defence in the first half with a wind-assisted shot which flew over the bar as Aldershot struggled to get a grip.
