They lead after just 18th minutes, thanks to a brilliant three man move finished by Danny Hylton. Alex Rodman, who'd had a quiet pre-season, sprang to life as Shots got straight down to business. He exchanged one-two's first with Michael Rankine and then with Hylton, before surging into the penalty area and shooting across the face of goal. Hylton connected and turned the ball home much to the delight of 200+travelling Shots fans.

The team spirit amongst this Shots team was then evident, as all outfield players joined Hylton to celelbrate in the corner infront of the home fans.

If things had begun well for Shots, they were to get even better in the 38th minute. Rodman again at the heart of things. It was his cross that troubled the home defence and the Shots faithful couldn't quite believe it as Robbie Threlfall rose at the far post and headed into his own goal.

Things got a little spicy after that and the home fans were incensed as Collins, Vincenti and McGlashan all lunged in with late tackles, the latter two receiving yellow cards.

Shots lead 2-0 at the break and deservedly so, but the home side came out hell bent on turning things round in their favour. Within five minutes, they had matched the number of efforts they'd had in the first half, but the Shots defence held firm. Shots occasionally threatened going forward, but Bradford came more and more into it, youngster Jack Compton exciting the home supporters with his pace and ingenuity.

Michael Rankine had a decent chance for Shots in the 65th minute, but his effort lacked both composure and power. Then Alex Rodman let fly from 25 yards. His shot had both power and pace, but just cleared the home side's crossbar.

Holdsworth waited a long time before shuffling his pack. Only in the last ten minutes did Morris and Mekki come on for the tireless McGlashan and Hylton.

The home side scored a 93rd minute consolation - James Hanson notching from close range, but Shots held on to claim a magnificent and well deserved victory.
