The Welsh defender had made a surprise recovery from a neck injury, received at Gravesend last Friday, to take his place in an unchanged starting line-up.
The Shots started the game brightly and from a short corner in the second minute they almost took the lead.
A Ryan Williams cross found Charles in the area and he did well to swivel, and strike a half volley which cannoned off the base of the post.
A Moseley cross to the far post was then met by the head of Day, but it was blocked on the line by a defender.
From the resulting corner the Shots had the ball in the net, but it was disallowed for an infringement after Day had bundled the ball past the keeper and over the line.
The visitors first shot on target came in the seventeenth minute, after a break down the Shots left, Platt found himself in a good position, but his weak effort was easy for Bull to collect.
John Grant then did well to set up Hudson, but his drive from 22 yards was directed straight at the keeper.
At the other end, a well struck effort from Platt was well held by Bully in the centre of the goal.
In the thirty sixth minute a neat 1 - 2 involving Grant and Williams saw the latter drag his effort just wide when he should have done better.
Rhys Day, who was deservedly named man of the match, then won the ball and sent Dixon clear, down the Shots right. The forward put in an excellent cross but it was headed over his own bar by a defender.
The last chance of the half fell to Stuart Beavon for the visitors, but after easily dispossessing Barnard, he blasted wildly over the bar.
Half time: Shots 0 - Weymouth 0
The Shots came flying out of the traps in the second half and Weymouth's goal led a charmed life in the forty eighth minute.
A Hudson cross was parried out by Matthews, but the ball fell perfectly for Beckford 12 yards out. His goal bound shot hit a defender and Williams follow up effort was well saved.
In the fifty second minute an excellent cross from former Aldershot winger Crittenden was met by the head of Beavon, but he couldn't direct it on target.
A minute later Soares replaced Dixon and the Shots took the lead soon after.
A Williams' corner reached Anthony Charles at the far post, and he did well to control it before lobbing the ball over for Day to out jump his marker and head home.
The lead was almost doubled in the fifty seventh minute.
After nice interplay between Beckford and Molesley, the latter slid the ball through for John Grant, whose strike across the keeper went agonisingly just inches wide of the far post.
Weymouth then had their best chance of the night when substitute Philips was put clear. But Bull came rushing out and the forwards attempted chip over him was well smothered by the keeper.
By and large the home defence was looking strong, and with the visitors pushing for an equaliser the Shots had chances to catch them on the break. However on more than one occasion a Shots player chose the wrong option, with Hudson being the main culprit.
Molesley fizzed an effort from just inside the box 2 yards wide in the seventy eighth minute.
Then Ryan Scott replaced Williams as Terry Brown attempted to shore up the midfield.
The visitors sent keeper Matthews up for a free kick deep into injury time, but although the cross was well flighted, Bull punched it to safety.
The Ref blew his whistle shortly after to give Terry Brown a winning send off.
Terry then did a lap of the ground, and on reaching the East Bank fell to his knees to show his respect to the Shots faithful who continued to sing his praises as they had for most of the match.
