After three successive 2-1 defeats Dagenham & Redbridge bounced back to winning ways as they overcame Aldershot Town in the Sunday lunchtime game at the Glyn Hopkin Stadium.
Two Tresor Kandol goals secured a victory that propelled the Daggers back into the top half of the Nationwide Conference. This latest defeat sees the Shots fall to last place in the table.
The visitors perhaps had the better of a rather sluggish opening 20 minutes as both sides struggled to come to terms with the early kick-off.
Aldershot certainly had the best chance and were denied an opening goal by the woodwork, as Omari Coleman got to the ball before Daggers keeper Tony Roberts, only to see it rebound off a post.
The Daggers responded to the near miss and Craig Mackail-Smith forced Nikki Bull into making a low save.
The home side then opened the scoring with their next attack. Paul Benson and Kandol linked up well for the latter to find himself through on goal. Kandol didn't disappoint the home fans as he produced an excellent side-foot finish to give Dagenham the lead.
The visitors thought they might have had a penalty on the stroke of half-time as Chris Moore brought down Andre Boucaud on the edge of the area.
The referee decided the offence took place just outside of the area and awarded a free-kick. Darren Barnard took the kick and forced Roberts into making a very good low save to keep his side ahead at the break.
Aldershot started the second half looking for an equaliser and came close to finding one as Tim Sills saw a header fly just wide. Scott Guyett also volleyed over the target when well positioned in the penalty area.
The Daggers always looked threatening on the counter-attack, however, and duly scored their second goal just after the hour mark.
Mackail-Smith released Kandol through on goal with a superb pass that carved open the Shots defence. Kandol made no mistake as he rounded Bull to score into an unguarded net.
